Here are some kid-oriented commercials that aired on KBHK TV 44 and ABC around 1987 and 1988.

Commercials for:
1. Cocoa Krispies (Now with hallucinations!)
2. Masters of the Universe 1-900 commercial (Things can get pretty racy with He-Man on the line...)
3. Nosy Bears (Teddy Bear + Popcorn in nose = My Head Explodes)
4. M&M's (Only in the 80's...)
5. Honey Nut Cheerios (I remember playing with wooden blocks like these all the time in preschool)
6. Bubble Thing (People who want to be your friend only for your giant bubbles aren't really your friend)
7. Promo for "Heathcliff" (Heathcliff, Heathcliff no one should...terrify the neighborhood!)
8. Anti Drug PSA (Brought to you by the California Attorney Generals Office and your Local Rotary Club)
9. Atari 2600 (Prices low enough to give you a rap induced seizure!)
10. Super Golden Crisp (Sugar Bear is such a pimp. And I totally had that little cloth figure with surfboard)
11. Hollywoods (Psychotic)
12. Honey Comb (Featuring a rare appearance from Big Bad Moe, the Motorcycle Maniac)
13. Maple Town (I think I had the bear figure)
14. Promo for "The Jetsons" (SORRY GEORGE)
15. Perfume Pretty Barbie (I like Ken's Members Only Jacket)
16. Barbie Ferrari ("Fer-arri!")
17. Cocoa Puffs (Man, I haven't had a bowl of these in ages)
18. Promo for "My Little Pony 'n Friends" (I totally remember tuning in for the Potato Head Kid episodes)
19. Wish World Kids (I really like the stop motion stuff here)
20. Hooks (Again, there were very strange stuffed animals made in the 80's)
21. TV Spot for "Willow" (I wish I were old enough to have seen this in the theater)

  • I love the 80s, but that Honey Nut Cheerios commercial, with the mentality of, "You can't possibly be having enough fun playing, you need to EAT!" is part of the reason we're all so obese today. Food can be fun, sure, but "Kids, are you bored? EAT something" is AWFUL programming.

  • @StormsongK Hard to believe, but besides being a source of entertainment, food is also a common source of nutrition too.

  • Who the hell is singing in that "Nosy Bears" commercial?

  • Nobody famous, I'm sure.

  • Nosy bears eh? Now there's one thing about the 80's I missed.

  • I remember Nosy Bears! Those were so weird. Willow, hell yeah I used to love that film, in fact it was the only film I recall that made my cry.

How old were you when Willow came out? I was five. Most of these commericals I would say are from Nov '87 and February '88.

  • My parents used to buy me the Wishworld Kids toys if I agreed to go to bed on time, lol.

  • Now that's the Cheerios Honey Bee I remember, lol.

  • @hitzingd Lol, yeah that phone line thing just sounded wrong, lol.

  • WILLOW was, is, and always will be the shit!

  • Oh no, I forgot my lunch... Thats okay, we'll share.. maple town and Me!

  • That anti-drug spot really starts out looking and sounding like an advertisement FOR drug use..."Gettin' into drugs and bein' high" sung enthusiastically to up-tempo synth backing while showing a bunch of cool kids dancing, skateboarding and having fun! Actually, it's pretty similar to the Hollywoods ad a couple spots later.

Thanks for posting these; they're a lot of fun and bring back many memories--a few of them good!
