Wondering what is the loud hum which is audible. Atx/rx of this calibre should be quiet....

The Hum is not actually a hum. It is how the noise I was getting at the time was recorded. I was not using the radios internal speaker but, I was using some Edirol studio monitor speakers. The way they are positioned means they are slightly behind and either side of the phone at the time of recording.
This will not help how the audio sounds on the recording.
