And this is the man who heads the "voting rights" division of the Justice Department? Americans are supposed to trust HIM to protect minority voting rights?

WTF? Our society is such that minorities don't become elderly--they die first. That's what this turkey said. WTF?

may be john tanners was trying to say minorities don't grow old like white folk because they get assasinated by cops whilst there lying face down....(thats what the maths says)

I would ask all who look at this video to watch the House Judiciary Hearings. Mr. Tanner had no numbers to back up his statements, and only serves in his present capacity to supress minority votes.

This fellow strikes me as a lost and lonely functionary, someone adrift in the bureaucracy of Washington. I agree with Mr. Obama. This man's comments are "patently erroneous, offensive and dangerous." He is drawing unfounded conclusions and seems to be unaware of his main argument. At the job since 1976, I'd say it's time...

Translation= "hey you dont live as long as we do so why vote?" OR "we need a voter id card because whites live longer and therefore will vote more in any given lifetime because the rest of you dont live as long, we've seen to that already let's reinforce it some more"

"The math" he's talking about is the exclusivity to health care, a reduced stress life, joblessness, lack of representation etc which translates into non whites dont live as long as whites.

Tanner is proposing a voter id card. While in and of itself doesnt pose a threat to anyone but it creates another barrier to those who probably wouldnt vote ie; non-whites. To further discourage anyone else FROM voting.

What Tanner says is true but the here's the point the rest of us dont vote and what he's proposing makes another barrier for those of us who arent white to vote. Mexicans dont vote because they have this feeling that it doesnt really matter thier population in the US is increasing dramatically, blacks dont vote because of lack of faith and asians dont vote because the mind set is predominantly exclusionary. Whites vote, if you dont vote you cant complain.

Minorities die first usually because the cops shoot them. When's the last time you saw a person over the age of...what...40? get tazered? When's the last time a white person, any white person died on the street from 9,21,40 cop bullets?
