A brief prog improvisation in E minor (Aeolian) combining various modal ideas, chord shapes, and tensions. Guitarists like Steve Howe (Yes), Robert Fripp (King Crimson), Steve Hackett (Genesis, solo), and Alex Lifeson (Rush) are probably best known for this lyrical soloing approach. And for you gearheads, I'm using an Ibanez AG95 archtop guitar fitted with Seymour Duncan "Phat Staple" (alnico) pickups and a digital-rack preamp system. --pete prown

  • Très belle improvisation, dans le style Howe/Hackett/Fripp!

  • Pete...really enjoyed that. Keep posting some more great stuff! I appreciate you sending me the link! Tommymec

  • Such a beautiful sound, I can literally smell an enchanted forest when I hear those long swells. I've watched this video and a few more featuring an AG95 quite a few times, and I have decided to purchase one. I must let you know that it was mainly this improvisation that made me choose this guitar over a Hagstrom, Ibanez Artcore, and an ES-175 - proof that I don't need to shell out a few grand to have an airy Steve Howe-drenched tone. Awesome and quite prestigious video sir!

  • i wouldnt exactly label this progressive rock..but this is still indeed very sick..and i heard the fripp infleunce..great job

  • Bravo!

  • I hear a strong La Villa Strangiato influenece, sir. :P
