Having trouble with the tail rotor. I bought this one from helipal. They advised I try a few things, all to no avail. They then stopped replying to my emails. I contacted Walkera direct and after only a few responses, with no solution, they too stopped replying.

So I ordered a new receiver thinking the original was at fault.

Unfortunately, that was not the issue as the problem of poor tail rotor response remains.

Does anyone know who services Walkera in North America?

Addendum:

Well, I found out what the problem was. Not getting any help from the distributor OR the manufacturer, I took the transmitter apart. After applying WD40 to all the pots and switches, I put it all back together and was pleased to see that the tail rotor response improved somewhat. BUT, now roll cyclic started to behave just like the tail.

As it turns out, both the rudder and roll response pots are connected with a plug in harness. Wiggling these by hand produced glitches.

So I hardwired these pots to the board and now, I had solid control. The tail rotor pot has a positioning screw to adjust for how soon it kicks in at the low stick point. Before adjusting, the tail rotor didn't start spinning till about half throttle.

It hasn't flown as of Oct the first, today, but I hope to be able to join in on all the fun that this marvelous machine has to offer.

  • hi hopeso, i'm really new to this i have a buzzflybe (4#3b), and i have the same problem the tail rotor seems to work when it feels like it, did you fix the problem or can you give me any tips to help me out, thanks i'd really appreciate it

  • Read the sidebar. I traced the problem to the wiring harness of the sticks in the transmitter. The plugs were making only intermittent contact so I hard wired them in place.

  • Also, check into the Blade MSR for indoor and the new, SR for outdoor. STABLE and yet agile.

  • Read the sidebar. The problem was the wiring of the sticks in the transmitter. I soldered the wiring directly to the board and all problems went away.

  • Same idea but

i used small fishing sinkers and clamped them to the flybar.

  • I have been reading a lot of comments about how hard this is to fly compared to MSR. Which is too bad because I wanted the 4#3Q for it's great Cobra fuselage. I hope EF start making scale bodies for MSR soon.
