  • Do you think there's any good diving in capitola?? I know there's lingcod and rockfish out there but I don't know how good the vis is.

  • Sorry to be so slow to responding. Capitola generally has poor vis. Folks diving thre target white sea bass off the 26th street kelp bed in the months of June and July vis freediving and then hunt by both free and scuba in the summer there for halibut. Vis at times is so poor you tell youself you'll never go back. BTW, I speared a 23 lb. ling in late November out of the hole in this video. A good ling hole produces again and again!

  • ok thanks alot :)

  • In Carmel bay, there are many types of rockfish. Blacks, olives, vermilion, grass, blues, some coppers and many smaller rockfish like black and yellows and gophers. Then there is the big lings and good sized cabezon.

  • And there is also Different rock fish species there as well right?

  • Yes, I launched my kayak by the pier at Pebble Beach that day. It is a public access spot. Great lingcod diving there.

  • Is that all by the Pebble Beach Golf Course?

  • I launch my kayak at the northern end of Carmel Bay right next to Stillwater pier. It is a public access spot. You still need to pay the $10 to get into Pebble Beach. The pier is next to the Beach Club and there is 10 designated spots for non-members like me.

  • where in carmel do you enter the water??

  • they are open year round for divers
