I remember seeing a video where someone was failing at this level for about 10 chipmunked minutes straight. It was pretty funny. But it shows how evil this game is.

Yes. Though there are some crazy costum blocks and stuff in the vip1's second part, maybe that would have conflicted with the 'reverse controls' things.

Oh, I figured it'd be easier if you had an extra "feather" rather than a "mushroom" eh?

I commented on this in an edited out part, but the game drops you on a mushroom before you get the feather. It's made explicitely to keep you from having a feather in reserve!

If you enter with a feather, not in reserve but actually have it as your powerup, then you will have the second in reserve when the one in the stage hits you
