When I drove the Autobahn the first time I played it smart, I a Canadian, like all tourists should - leave the fast driving to the local population. Hats off to the Germans for their vehicles that can handle that kind of speed.

hahaha! what was it? a bicycle? even the 1er series with the smallest engine makes 220 kph easily.

@JanSolo Every Bmw drives minimum 200km/h
-
hey, 140 in the 3rd gear -
not bad....
hopefully a rented car ;-)

@IMN666 No, you can call them with your cell phone or with the phones on the autobahn. And there is an lane for them or if your car is beat-up.

@chappy39 Hooray a thousand times. It's terribly annoying to have tourists who only think about the Autobahn and wurst when they go to Germany, feel like they're reaching the speed of light by driving 140KM/H. Enjoy being passed by German engineering, but please don't do it when you aren't used to it. It's dangerous and you are obstructing the other traffic, with no point but your personal thrill.

@JanSolo Why would it not go any faster then 140? I have a 2000 BMW 323i which is a lower end model that will max at 250km/h
-
Pls Tourists you are a delay for the other car driver.

140km/h is my normal speed on the autobahn. (if there is no speedlimit)
the fastest o drove one a autobahn was 250km/h and got passd from a Supra.....much faster than me....
so the vid is quite boring for a german.. ;)

That's 84 MPH - you're going to get passed lke that in California too - at least when the traffic isn't bad - usually arond 3AM till 5 AM :-/
Sadly, my rental BMW could not go much faster.
