On August 11, 2006, a condensed live version of the infamous Green Day mashup album "Dean Gray: American Edit" was performed as a "mini mashup rock opera" at the Bootie 3-Year Anniversary party at DNA Lounge in San Francisco. It was entited "Dean Gray - American Edit: The Theatrical Experience."
The show was presented by Bootie's house band Smash-Up Derby and starred performance artist Foxy Cotton. It was a combination of live music, theatre, and visuals, and it was the first and only time it was performed.
This is "Boulevard of Broken Songs," the third number in the show, which mashes up Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" with Oasis' "Wonderwall," Aerosmith's "Dream On," and a bit of Travis' "Writing To Reach You," which is sung by Party Ben, the creator of the original mashup, in a cameo appearance.
The video was shot and edited by Ben Estabrook from Altamont Productions.
