Blar Sliabh an T Siorraidh (Clarsach - Early Irish harp - The Shrine of St. Moedoc )

Josephine playing a new harp I have just finished building. I took inspiration from the harp depicted at The Shrine of St. Moedoc and built it with a willow sound box and oak frame. Today is the first day she was brought to pitch. I am sorry to see her go but she is off to Germany next week. I believe that this instrument will have the most beautiful tone when she has had a little time to settle. More information about this instrument will be made available when my website is updated in April 2009.

@wmacdonald The Willow provides a soft warm hollowness which is counterbalanced by the Oak which is dense, hard, and cold. These qualities blend unmistakeably in the tone without overrunning each other.
