Maybe, but other than in the last tournaments since 1998 Germany is explicitly marked favorites, in the last Euros or WCs they called themselves underdogs anytime they were asked. Not anymore, and with that the public pressure for success rises, we will see how a young German side can cope with that. I actually think England and Italy are quite underrated atm, they should join the big tree Spain, Germany, Holland in EC favorites club. But i digress... ;)

- One year before WC Germany looses 1-2 against England.

- Tree months before WC Germany looses 0-1 against Argentina.

- Nine months after WC Germany looses 1-2 against Australia.

All these three games were lost on home soil for Germany.
