Severe Thunderstorm, Medford, MA

A severe thunderstorm rolled through the greater Boston area as I was getting out of work. Made it in the house JUST in time before the torrential rain started!

Man, you should have seen what Central Square, Cambridge was like! I work in a corner office on the 5th floor and within minutes the sky turned black, the rain started coming down hard, winds of 60+ mph started, hail was hitting the windows and the windows were shaking, visibility was reduced to 30 ft, and the lighting was right on top of us!

I've lived here my whole life but that was the most extreme I've seen. And of course minutes later it was clear and sunny. :D

Oh, I totally believe it! When I got to Wellington station it was pitch black, the cloud formation was amazing. And of course I didn't bring my camera to take pictures of it! We had like 2 seconds of hail, mostly just torrential downpours.

I've been here my whole life too but this wasn't the most extreme. Can't remember what year but mid-1990s we were under tornado warnings and funnel clouds were spotted over Route 2 near Cambridge!

that wasnt severe i think you just missed the good part of the storm...happens to me all the time and its very disappointing

I remember a very bad storm sometime in the Summer of 1999, it kept me up all night because of how loud it was.

Damn storms!
