In the face of 41 straight months of unemployment above 8 percent, President Obama is calling for a tax hike on nearly a million business owners. In the Weekly Republican Address, U.S. Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) says there's a better path forward: "The way to an American economic comeback, the way to help those out of work today find a paycheck, is to unleash the forces of job creation in America." Portman calls for comprehensive tax reform, debt reduction, scaling back burdensome regulations and increasing domestic energy production. "The government-knows-best approach of the past few years has given us the weakest economic recovery since the Great Depression. It's time to turn things around. We know we can restore America's greatness by harnessing the power of free people and free enterprise," he says.

The VP debate was like watching Batman and the Joker. Paul Ryan debated the issues in a serious, calm manner while "Joker Joe" guffawed, snorted, dramatically threw his arms into the air and grinned like a demoniac. The only thing missing was the red lipstick and white face. I've got breaking news for Joker Joe Biden. A dead ambassador, a dead economy and a very live cover-up is no laughing matter.

It's hilarious that anyone would call this an 'excellent speech.' This man is an empty suit only looking out for the special interests that put him in that chair. Anyone see his interview on foreign policy this week? He has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. And he even had to admit that he didn't know any facts on Libya or the protests... or any facts on the Arab Spring.

This video is simply embarrassing. While there is fair, and well deserved critizism of the Obama administration out there, the numbers this man is throwing out there are only the bits and pieces that are convenient for him to show right now. If both senators and representatives like Portman stood for things other than their party and their own carreers, things could have been very different. Hard for me to believe that there are Americans out there who still support ass-kissers like this one.
