The fourth annual Henry R. Kravis Prize in Leadership was awarded on March 31, 2009, to Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, founder of the Afghan Institute of Leadership (AIL). In a ceremony at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, Dr. Yacoobi accepted the award on behalf of "all of the women of Afghanistan." She received a standing ovation from the 234 guests for her courageous and innovative work with the women and children in Afghanistan. Through AIL, more than 350,000 women and children are reached each year through learning centers and health clinics.
