I'm always open to new idea and i think @jessvollver should not compare one way or another to the original singer. I think david cook did a great job by singing it good and keep his own style singing a song that so synonymous with the original singer.

he's got an alright voice, but he butchered this song. no one should ever cover it. especially not a dude.
