@QuantumQuacks - Stop making excuses for drunks. My father was a drunk my entire childhood (60s/70s). If I woke up in the middle of the night and our next-door neighbor was in our living room that meant Dad was busted for DUI again and Mom went to get him out. That's my warm and fuzzy memory of Dad.
It may be hard to quit drinking but it's a 'conscious choice' to get behind the wheel and drive. As far as I am concerned the death penalty is too good for people like that.

Eighteen months? If that drunk had used a gun they would be serving decades for murder but when a car is the weapon of choice somehow the justice system looks the other way. RIP...

I am so sorry for your loss...and you are right it is 100% preventable...my son was hit 2 months ago by a drunk driver, he survived, but all the driver is going to get out of it is a DUI...Kansas law states that the drunk driver doesn't know right from wrong...I don't believe that at all...Blessings to you all....may God comfort your hearts....

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. My sister was killed by a drunk driver two years ago at age 17. Its not easy going through the pain of the death of someone close. By the way, that song is a great song too.

atleast you know that your kids and you have a gaurdian angel watching over you im sorry for your loss i know every girl wants there daddy to walk them down the ailse.
Wow, this is such a sad sad video. Death by drunk driving is 100%preventable, and as far as I'm concerned the punishment should be much harsher than it is, it's insane that someone that brings this much devastation and heartache to a family can practically just walk away. My heart goes out to you and your family and you will always be in my prayers.

I am sorry for your lose and I know the daily struggle you face as I walk in your shoes. I lost my 30 year old son to a drunk driver while he was on patrol in his squad car. He left behind a wife and 4 children, plus a mother and a father. People say accident, I say vehicular homicide. It did not have to happen. His son asked me on Christmas Eve, "Why did my Daddy have to die?" How do you answer that? New Years Eve is a day away, please don't drink and drive.
