Send Silence Packing

Send Silence Packing is a traveling program of Active Minds to raise awareness about the incidence and impact of college student suicide. Active Minds collected 1,100 backpacks and personal stories to put a 'face' to the 1,100 college students who die by suicide each year. The inaugural display of Send Silence Packing was held on the National Mall in Washington, DC in April 2008. Most recently, Send Silence Packing traveled to the University of Pennsylvania in November, 2008 in conjunction with the Active Minds National Mental Health on Campus conference. The band, Liquor Boxx, joined Active Minds to help us literally send silence packing and promote changing the conversation around mental health on college campuses across the country. This video is accompanied by their song, Tomorrow.
