Sounds like an easy fix to get the speed correct. My grandfather was supposedly Edison's taylor in New Jersey and he actually gave my grandfather one of these units in exchange for a suit! With the big horn and everything! It was passed on to my Father but (unbelievably) he had to sell it to pay bills back in the 80s. Now I wish we still had it in our family... good luck.

ouch the slowing down and speeding up is aweful!
I'm sure you can find some parts to make this stop playing like that.

By the way the two recordings played here, sounded all right, what with surface noise, lo fidelity, and all that. I can only hope that my hearing problems aren't masking the speed issues you are all grousing about.

Mose Tapiero was a good ocarina soloist. He cut "Carnival of Venice" for Victor Records. This reminded me of him. I take good care of my Victor, Columbia and other vintage disks because stores are not selling these.

you could at least crank it up a little bit?

sound kinda creepy at the begining of every song
I have around 48 Edison 1/4" records that use to belong to my husband's grandmother who grew up during the era these records were produced. There are a few that have the label on them, but most do not have (writing is etched onto them). If someone is interested in these records, please send me a message.
