Per New York Times:
★ JANDEK (Sunday) Now, deep into the era of the overshare, Jandek, a reclusive folk singer from Texas, is even more of an anomaly: he self-releases his albums, rarely grants interviews and hardly ever tours. (Although hes been recording since 1978, his first known live performance was at a festival in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2004.) He appears more frequently now (since 2004, a small handful of shows each year), but still: catch him while you can. With C. Spencer Yeh, a musician from Cincinnati who wields his violin like a weapon (his squealing compositions are purposefully unruly), Ryan Sawyer (of Stars Like Fleas), Susan Alcorn, Shahzad Ismaily and the Nate Wooley Trio. At 8 p.m., Issue Project Room, 232 Third Street, third floor, Gowanus, Brooklyn , (718) 330-0313, issueprojectroom.org (Petrusich)
