Did anyone else think of the following line when they heard the 'universal solvant' argument?
"I'm melting! I'm melting! Ohhhhh... What a world, what a world!"

If it's so easy for nucleotides to assemble and for life to spontaneously arise...why is it that new life forms are not spontaneously popping up today? or for that matter 2000 years ago or a million years ago?

=If it's so easy for nucleotides to assemble=
Its not. Its clearly the result of a series of different chemical steps.
=why is it that new life forms are not spontaneously popping up today?=
We don't know that they aren't, around hydrothermal vents or somewhere similar. But the chance of any new life surviving is remote, because the Earth is filled with existing life forms in every possible crevice. Any new life form would be called =lunch=.
