  • sufjan stevens is i think, and i think everyone would agree with this, but one of the best musicians of our age, no argument

  • I'm sure you're not. Especially in a city like NYC there are tons of black people who listen to music other than hip hop and r&b. I mean, I'm in a smaller city, Chicago, and have lots of black friends who like indie, some of which like Sufjan, including myself. You're not that special, believe me.

  • "ring them bells" is done very well like jacksonville theres another group called "welcome wagon" they're a couple that constructs theire music just like sufjan and he even produces is which is why but def. check them out.. they're all religious and its really cool :) hope you like it

  • Hahah, I love the man waving the little American flag at the end.

Purely Americana at it's best ;]

  • Try singing the chorus to "Les Fleur" by Minnie Ripperton over the start of this. Fit's perfectly.

  • Man i love sufjan!

dose anyone know any other songs that are like Jacksonville?

  • Aw man. Sufjan Stevens is huge now.

He's no longer my secret little musician.

I remember back in the day, there were only 2 pages for sufjan stevens results on youtube.

I remeber when this vid had like....3 comments.

    ahhh....the good old days.

  • Usually wouldn't be my genre.

But I like its catchy and he has a really good voice (:

  • Sufjan Stevens is a genius.

  • He IS talking about Jacksonville. Dammit's post reads: "It's connecting the abolitionists from Illinois (INCLUDING JACKSONVILLE, OF COURSE) with their future counterparts destination: Jackson, Alabama, a hotspot of the civil rights movement."
