the problem with next up and stuff like that is that you have to vote and the people with more subscribers are more likely to win while the people with small audience will not get noticed that's the difference between something like YouTube next up and getting featured. Getting featured is something unique and i sure to get you noticed. it doesn't matter if you have a small audience or a big one

Dan, as much as I love your videos. I felt like you were just making fun of John and Andrew instead of actually talking about the 'community' as a whole. I'll have to agree with Andrew on the fact that a lot of small youtubers don't get as much attention like they used to. And besides, all these competitions like nextup always end up being won by 'big' youtubers cause they are constantly shown on the front page of youtube. However I do agree with you on the whole business prespective.

@debenni no I don't but I'm saying that while next up is a great idea it does not effectively accomplish its goals. It does give lower end youtubers a lot of subscribers

My suggestion is to only allow votes after viewing a certain number of entries.

@debenni yes they do but the point in next up is to promote lesser known youtubers not to build up competition with moderate ones
