well, I am a Kalmyk. I can only comment one thing. Kirsan is only a sad reflection of what is going on in Russia overall. If you go to many Russian regions like Chechnya or Dagestan, you will encounter same sad people who are in power. There is saying, "the fish starts to rot from the head". Russian government is in power, and it is very corrupt, Kirsan illumjinov is a small man compared to the Russian gangsters who are in power.
Otherwise, I love the way you present it. It is crazy over there

You can just go there as a tourist, $1,300 for a plane ticket there and back and then $200 from moscow to kalmykia and back.
