  • @2beekate How very true. But it seems as though the hope of peace, love and happiness was very much alive in the people, despite the media and everything else going on. Would you rather have today's situation or the 60's all over?

  • @uzi4u182 Funny how I was 13 in 1967 and it was anything but a time of peace and happiness. My memories of the 60s, from hearing the mandated news interrupting the rock n roll music every hour, was about the Bay of Pigs Invasion, civil war in Laos, Cuban Missile Crisis, JFK's assassination, Viet Nam, Watts riots, MLK's assassination, the Tet Offensive,Chicago Democratic Convention, Mi Lai Massacre, the Pueblo Incident, civil war & starving in Biafra, Manson murders. Not much peace or happiness

  • why that 1 dislike is on here is a mystery.love this lovin' spoonful tune :)

  • Good gracious !!!!! I had completely forgotten about this dear song !!!!

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing it. This song has been a part of my life and its lyrics have helped me to become what I am.

Great Lovin' Spoonful !!! THANKS !!!

  • good band, some hits, too much grass [smoke] got involved with f.b.i. sting ...broke up after that mess!!!!!

  • this is a great song I always thought it was the Turtles Thumbs Up The Spoonful was a fantastic band.....

  • Who produced and arranged this gem?

  • @RPNdelovely yes he is

  • Sorry, I meant ". . . while not perhaps underappreciated . . ."

  • The Spoonful played freshman orientation (of all things) at the college I attended (Washington University in St. Louis) in 1967 and their live version there was even better than the recorded version. A band that, while not perhaps appreciated--since they're in the Rock and Roll Hallof Fame--is not sufficiently appreciated. Sebastian is definitely underappreciated as a songwriter.
