Great linebackers in the nfl must not only have good athleticism, but also great instincts. Jones doesn't have elite speed and athleticism, but he has GREAT instincts to go along with a great motor. His run defense is better than you think. 28 tackles for loss! 16 teams missed on this guy. Glad to have him in Pitt!

Jarvis Jones actually responsibilities in the Georgia defense is unknown.  Some players are told trample the run on the way to the passer. The Steelers defense is about gap integrity which Jones shows the ability to maintain. He controls his gap often times shedding the block to make the tackle. Jones isn't a finished product by any means, but is tremendous value at #17.

You have no idea what you are talking about, man. He finished the game with 13 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. That is one of the greatest performances you will ever hear about and it is in the SEC in a rivalry game. It doesn't get bigger than UGA vs. UF and Jarvis took the game over. To get him at the 17th pick is insane!!!

agreed i mean the stat sheet shows 3 FF and 3 sacks and maybe 4 tackles total but the problem is every other play he was beat and not just beat but beat bad. ill admitt the natural talent is there but he needs to do this consistantly not just a few plays a game

have to agree the raw talent is there but shows absolutlely no leverage, loses 1on1 too often and doesnt see to do much more than blitz, outside of a few plays he isnt much of a run stuffer either. honestly i think we will be sitting on the bench for a few year much like timmons did untill he gets stronger and smarter over all i see a b- player
