  • SkyWayMan90 - good observation.... the start stop distance for almost everything but a light single engine is out in the Valley well off the end, so the key is thorough engine runup/mag check for a piston, and all engine instruments in the green for a turbine, power to 85 % before brake release, anything rough in the first 500 feet, abort. otherwise run off the end of the runway, instant 2000 ft agl as the runway is carved off the top of a mountain. Nose over, eng out landing in field below.

  • Citation 501...not 550...my bad. Still single-pilot though!
