  • Ghiaurov è il miglio Fiesco della storia!

  • Only one singer did this aria better: Siepi

  • @ddavid210 he is not a bass-baritone. he's a bass

  • the best verdi conductor and the best verdi bass-baritone!!!

  • @bullogh Szekely is good, but not in the league of Ghiaurov, Christov, Siepi, and a couple of Russians (sorry the names don't come up). Even with a discount for the poor recording technique of the time.

For a young bass try Alexander Tsimbalyuk

  • The best Fiesco: Mihaly Szekely.

  • Hmm...one of the biggest voices ever and listen to how he sounds with the mics placed AWAY from him and NOT ENCHAINING his sound like the singers do now days. They cheat so much now days that Florez sounds bigger than this! ROFL! INSANE!

  • @gigalaf

he does sound rather more like a dramatic baritone. probably not high enough to sing Verdi baritone roles, but certainly something like Scarpia. this sounds a bit low for him if you ask me.
