  • i went to heidenfest because i wanted to see alestorm and turisas. didn't know a single song of skálmöld before the concert, but FUCK they rocked so hard! I even think they played the best show of the evening; i expect a lot more from these guys in the future!

  • @superman91111111 i'm happy that your culture exist, mate. things like that make our world an interesting place to live. by the way could you name some icelandic folk singers? maybe also some choirs who sing traditional icelandic/scandinavian songs? greetings

  • @casperado666 hello i am Gabríel thats an icelandic name and we are glad that u like out culture :)

  • @Sindrijo Yeah i'Ve heard about Skamöld, it was apparently a historical period in Iceland. Overall i find Icelandic culture awesome. As far as i know many slavic countries know their older history only due to the icelandic sagas.

A promise given, a promise that will be fulfilled.

There, thats everything. Its a pretty loose translation of the icelandic text and some meaning will be lost through wording but you should be able to make what it is about.

Njörður is an old viking god and skálmöld means "age of the sword" or "lawlessness", its similar to Ragnarök a time where the band of brothers is broken by the sword...

  • @casperado666 I saw my: child, ravaged, bloody and scared. - beatings on my flock and folk. - innocent blood float in rivers. - family slaughtered which was so good to me. I saw: death of two maidens, the two daughters. - bloodred claws that locked into them. - a withered plant, did someone ask? - The intruder grin and leave. Walked the land, gigantic pass, heavy blows, Hel touched me, winged threat, that wolf/threat, his name named, now i shall avenge.

A shadow he cast, a terrible sight.

Skálmöld was risen and great damage was done.

Thats how my most precious boon was drowned,

    killed was everything I loved.

Defend them I should have but was late,

know this, alive no one is left.

A messy turf which before was clean,

everything I had crumbled down to its foundations.

  • @casperado666 Loose translation: Night, from north colder gets. as it arrives over mountain, beating wings, an army of wights, riding on werewolves. I rode over my land, and rowed out into the fjord, I calmed down, and thanked Njörð. In the twilight I looked up to the mountaintops, ugly was the sight I was met with. Came over the ridge an army black as coal, I turned the boat around and fled. Their wings of stone, a swarm of fangs, and screams that silence shredded.
  • Skálmöld er besta dópið í heimi xDDDDD
