Relda Bennett is in over her head. She's just a spunky American girl thrown in with the Enterprise crew as part of the Cadet Training Program after being the sole survivor of a calamity. Now, she's got to try and obey the rules.

Only that's a little hard when there's an enemy after them, someone who's been seeking revenge on Starfleet for a long time - and they have an intricate plan.

When Relda, along with Chekov and a young Vulcan named Rahnek, are captured, they are thrust into a cruel world full of sick mind games that make them doubt even each other. Only problem is, a tentative relationship between Chekov and Relda threatens to doom them all...
