The Original Elphaba, Idina Menzel performing No Good Deed from the musical Wicked.
One of her last performances on Broadway - 2nd January 2005.
Flawless. Pure passion and clarity. The end "Again" is a particular highlight.
Enjoy.

  • @Esorassen Before Defying Gravity, to return onto the stage the duo have to make the 'Death Stair Dash' which is shown if you search Nicole Parker Defying Gravity Backstage or similar, and The Wizard and I? No idea!

  • @pilchard96 what would explain the gasping during Defying Gravity and The Wizard And I?

  • @poelske2 no way idna all the way

  • Idina is my favorite and is the best Elphaba to me!!

I love her doing this song, mostly because she does it with so much emotion and I love her voice!

I can almost sound like her when I sing along.. Almost X3

  • idina also said this is the point in the show she got most out of breath, as she had to run from one side of the stage, make a substage crossover and all around the pit to get to the NGD lift - this would explain the gasping :)

  • this HAS to be my gave song in the musical..........so much passion, even in the recordings

  • I think that Nicole Parker did this song a bit better

  • What kind of breathing problem does she have? I think that she still has a GREAT voice

  • this is the most wonderful No Good Deed I've ever heard, not only sung by Idina but by all other Elphies.

Idina is definitely THE Elphaba, no one can ever compare to her performances nor come close to

  • Menzel really sounds like Alanis Morressette, especially in this song and "The Wizard and I". Wow....dream casting for the movie?
