Its either the TV or the GPU
mine has been connected since november 18 2006 and works perfectly

Question: How often did/do you play your Wii before you got this problem? Ive heard that it is caused by overheating GPU's, so I am trying to limit my gameplay time to 2 or so hours at a time.

Two reasons:
1) It's a defect and people don't want to tolerate bugs like this on $250 pieces of 5 year old technology.
2) The problem gradually gets worse and worse. On both my Wiis I didn't see the problem at first, then there were a few dots, and then there were many dots. On my first Wii I bet if I had let it go the entire screen would have been black dots by now.

I had the problem on my Wii, sent it in for repair, the problem returned, and I sent it back in a second time. Nintendo's clearly adopted the Microsoft philosophy of cutting corners on quality and fixing the problem as users report it. Nintendo probably expects many to ignore it or place the blame on their TVs.

i think nintendo sent the good wii's to canada cuz everyone down in canada say there wii's work perfectly.
ps.hahahahahhaha!

I too have the same problem. It's not the tv. I've tried my wii on three different tvs and still get the pixels. Already sent Nintendo an email and waiting for a response.

It may not be annoying on a small TV, but when you're playing on a 60" the pixels are much more noticable. I also don't enjoy playing the supposedly best Zelda ever where the people look diseased when it shows a closeup.

I tested numerous connections and televisions. The problem is the Wii.
