Speed is just an easy way for administrators to fiddle with traffic stats and get their bonuses and promotion.

@BikeVisionScotland thats relevant however there is no challenge picking a line on the big kwacka while doing 70mph, as you can alter lines mid corner at that speed. its not until it is pumping out its mid range torque that you have to stay with the line you have chosen, unless you back off and let that short stroke motor slow you down. Its true they are comfortable extremely torquey and flexible with great engine braking. 140km/h is a safe uniform speed on that bike.

@assortedcorpses ideally we would not have had our institutions and infrastructures tyrranised by corporate psychopaths we could use our own integrity and judgement of what speed to do and where...wow radical concept...free will with responsibility! when i grew up and first got a license there were no maximum speed limits on the open roads. This state of individual empathy and care has to come back. Yes I would enjoy the autobahn, overtaking slow vehicles doing 250km/h would be fun!

@buddhastaxi666 They really ought to reevaluate speed limits for bikers. I would say that we should be given an extra 30kph on highways only. If you want true high speeds, then you really will roads like Germany's autobahns.

great to see a video such as this uploaded for no other reason than to offer some further guidance and assistance to riders in improving their riding skills. The running commentary is no easy thing to do whilst doing the actual task of riding in an advanced defensive manor. I am sure this would to 99% of bikers enlighten them to what should be going threw their brain in order to not take the ignorant risks that most of us do day after day in the poor judgement of the road ahead Thanks guys
I have a 2006 zx14 and live in rural Australia the max speed here is 110 km /h pn my bike thats like doing 70kmh in my car...its using abput 20% of its potential... The problem we have as bike owners is that these bikes cruise at high speed withput strain at 140 to 200+ ...this is besides applying safe riding behaviour like looking ahead, traffic density etc...we all do it so should be decriminalised?

@buddhastaxi666 I rode a Honda Pan European ST1300 for 7 years (great A to B bike)and bought the ZZR1400 for the grin factor. I control the throttle and have great fun within the speed limits, love the acceleration, smoothness, handling and comfort of the bike which just inspires, especially when the skies are blue.
cheers

I support the police and safe riding however why ride a zzr1400 which does about 3200 rpm at 120km/h ... You may as well be on a big framed 650...no one does the speed limit on a big bike unless they live in germany or the northern terriotory of australia...the zzr 1400 does about 5000 rpm at 160km/h max torque is at 7000... My point is either raise speed limits or stop selling us big bikes which go fast without even trying

@buddhastaxi666 Exactly the same can be said for cars!
