Caring for a pet skunk requires providing a healthy, varied diet of a high-quality dry dog food, calcium-rich foods, healthy grains and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Add flax seed oil and taurine to a skunk's diet with information from a wildlife caregiver and rehabilitator in this free video on skunks.

  • I'm pretty sure the gland that sprays that liquid can be removed through surgery

  • @gamergeek they still have a natural scent that will smell musky if you do not properly feed it.

  • @h6e6ne6 Yeah, I hear ya. I'm just getting off an unmitigated-violence-toward-skunks way of thinking myself. I still would not wild skunks infesting my property, but I could see where deliberately having one as a pet might not be bad.

  • @drydenstewart If you want it to live a long life then they will need supplements, that's why experts say that.

  • @seikaru1722 They don't need it, you are right. But, if you incorporate all of these things in the skunk's diet, he/she will live 10 years or longer. That was the point of the video, to have the healthiest pet skunk as you can have.

  • @mermaidamp as much as any other pet

  • @drydenstewart i watched all her videos. she is rubbish. they really donnt need that much stuff....she is wrong about 96 % of the stuff

  • I love when people take a wild animal and say it needs an expencive diet! where in the wild is a skunk getting stuff like flax seed oil? give your skunk eggs, meal worms, earthworms, berries, small amounts of meat, and fruits and vegtables, nuts, and cereal for treats when you want them to do something. AND exercise! all animals need to run and play to be happy!

  • Good advice ^^

  • Do skunks get gassy?
