  • It depends on the creek... a friend of mine got giardia drinking from creeks in the near Mt. Rainier! I'd prefer to be cautious and try to avoid any viruses or bacteria...No matter what always look for a quick moving water source, and the higher up the mountain the better.

  • That is a clever bit of design. All these new innovations are so interesting, aren't they? I noticed REI had the pen on sale recently for $64. That was quite a savings over their normal sale price. Would love to try one of these out, someday, but not until my filter is worn out. Are we going to see some vids on your latest trip, soon? Those are the vids I love to watch, the hiking, the camp scenes, etc.. Thanks for showing us this. I didn't know it had that feature. Best to you.

  • @slodeth5 I actually have pictures and videos on the Hiking Lady facebook page. Eventually I want to make them into youtube slide shows of the HIking Lady's adventures :)

  • @gcollin75 I ate at Taco Bell last weak and I'm still alive. Your point?

  • @gcollin75 I've BASE jumped 22 times without a reserve chute and I'm still alive. Doesn't mean it's safe or smart :)

  • You do know that you could totally just drink that water right out of the creek, I have done it before (of course with different creeks, probably at higher elevations) and I am still alive.
