@se1nl1fe I see what you mean. It could be interpreted as sounding judgemental, like you say.
-
@TableWolfMusic good observation! hard to deduce what she meant with that comment, whether a reflection on her own definition of love or an accepted societal definition, I dunno. Either way it sort of sounds 'judgy'

@se1nl1fe If it is ok to ask, how do you feel about the last few words the presenter spoke? I refer to when she said, "...as they define love".
Right or wrong, it sounded like a bold statement.
To me, it sounds as if she is saying that "they" (the girls in the video) have a different definition of love. However it isn't clear if the presenter meant that it is different only to "her" definition, or whether it is different to a definition of love that she feels is the "norm" or "normal".

I wish the whole episode was up =.=

@XTrkishDelightX just cus it was common, doesn't make it ok.
it was common to stone women to death for adultery, and to execute a "rebellious" son.

@giriisindahouse Actually, polyandry does happen in some societies, especially ones where natural resources are scarce.

@the0th marriage to girls that young were very common in those times with everyone, christians, jews etc etc. Also, the prophet did not consummate with her until after 9 years old & new research shows that it was probably a lot after. Mary was only 12 when she married the 90'year old Joseph, things like this were very common back in those days, you call everyone back than a pedophile. NOW if it happens, its a different story. Men & women alike are maturing later and living longer.

what beautiful girls i love the clothes its so beautiful and they seem like happy girls dont hate people its their culture everyone has one .

some of these girls are 6-7 years old. this is why it's debatable whether prophet muhammad was a pedophile. yes he had sex with a 6 year old, but it was normal in his culture.
@RachieMyers i was doubtful as well...but i can assure you it is well translated...maa (language of the maasai) is my 1st language and i can verify this without doubt. I have to say though that i detest these bbc videos coz they are a sort of voyeurism that i find creepy. I personally am in turmoil over some of the practices in my culture...polygamy and FGM to be precise but i think these are problems that we need to figure out ourselves.

What about multiple husbands sharing a wife? That'll never happen coz guys ego will never accept another guy anywhere near their territory doesn't it? This double standard is seen even in animals like lions. Btw I'm a dude (not even a feminist)
