vs. making my own ....I keep making the mistake of not making backups of things and because I'm not a great artist or programmer, despite all these ideas I have and stuff I want to do...I just don't spend enough time on projects and I get really discouraged ..... I miss trying to work on things though and I miss Adrift (tool I would use to work on my own interactive fiction games) and I miss trying to make games in Ren'py and AGS, I haven't really done anything creative in years
I've been a gamer all my life , and I'm female....I used to hang around adventure game studios forum quite a bit but haven't been there in years ...I have tried my hand at making games the only reason there's nothing out there by me is I keep making stupid mistakes and keep dropping out of things...have tons of unfinished projects...I'm not a great artist or programmer....blah blah blah...cute dog you have there btw I am lazy in a way, I'd rather sit down and play somebody else's game...
- the game does not have that much action; i guess many guys prefer something more destructive where you need to act rather than walk around clicking and talking.
and so totally right about the right click. I did play old games but mainly on console, where you had joystick instead of a mouse, so I got seriously stuck a couple of times that i had to look up a guide (for example when Joey needs to read the letter from Harriet Sherman)
hehe i'm female and i'm in love with the blackwell series (also really loved emerald city confidenatial, but that's different story). only 23 though and not married hehe.
i think the game appeals to female audience more because:
- the main character is female
- the companion is male, so it kinda creates some sort of a couple and you can speculate on some romantic relationship between the main characters (yay when i found out that Joey was in love with Lauren, wanna see more romance :P)
You'd be surprised at how many females are closet gamers. I think most of them lurk on game forums just to see what's going on and there are plenty of women who love PNC(point n' click) adventures. A lot of the time I'm surprised by sister when replies about one of my male action games that I'm talking about to my male friends.
A lot of women also watch men play so they have a basic knowledge of the game play and story line. And if you didn't know already a lot of the classic PNC Adventures were made by women. Roberta Williams is a Hero to me and a lot of players.
