Fitting new seals to Hydraulic Cylinder

Bob Jackson of Target Fluid Services Ltd www.targetfluid.co.uk re visits East Brothers Saw Mills. This time he is removing a hydraulic ram to replace worn seals. Bob stresses the importance of making sure that no loads are suspended and the machine is safely isolated. "It is very dangerous to be under any load held up by hydraulics" he says. Always make sure the load is lowered or chocked with suitable supports.

Your video says fitting new seals to the cylinder. I saw 5 minutes and 13 seconds of video. 13 seconds of the seals and 5 minutes of sawmill / cylinder use. Real waste of time. Sorry but this doesn't really show anything about doing the seals.

With all due respect, there isnt really any simpler terms than "ram' or ;pin' for ram or pin etc etc. lt is understanderble that the maker expects you to have at least a very basic understanding of what you are trying to do!
