great video! love the atlatl practice. I can see this simulating a real hunt on the water. thanks for making

I can see that it might cause confusion, I believe the inuit version of the atlatl is slightly different and can also be used as a short paddle, search greenland style kayaking, they call it another name but it escapes me at the moment, good film tho, where were you?

I just found "norsaq" (as you said) and some web ressources mentionning a book with lots of descriptions and plans of traditional kayaks : seems fantastic !
[[ I was in an outdoor recreational "lake" (apparently deserted that day). Half of this "lake" is a nature reserve. As there was almost no human on the water, waterfowl were trespassing the vague limits of their territory. OK, that's not a valid reason for (gently) harrassing them, but it's such a fun :-) ]]

But where did the atlatl come in?

@greenjack1959l
In the last part of the video, I try to throw a light spear with an atlatl from within the kayak : this feels a lot different than on earth. And throwing a heavy spear, Inuit style, may be a rather different skill to learn.
What was unexpected to me is the confusion that arises when changing tools (paddle vs atlatl / spear) or when trying to find a place to let momentarily the tools that were not in use (not so much room on board).
