Just a sound clip of my exhaust, 03 Sunfire auto, right side stock muffler, left side thrush 2 1/4in. glasspack. Oh yeah, Marks dancing and eating a hot dog on the side. Normal driving is a lot deeper, this is on a cold start.

  • And if you properly route aluminum piping (brushed aluminum is more expensive but VERY worthwhile) at a 3" diameter from the throttle body around the battery into the fender and remove the resonator chambers and cap it with a Spectre air filter (with a partially open end), also properly placing the IAT sensor, Fuel Pressure Regulator bleed line and crankcase breather into the pipe, you spend $100 on the system, get 7 hp @ 5,400-5,500 rpm, gain 2 lb-ft of torque, and stay emissions legal.

  • @sunfireman03 I know it doesn't sound good, but like I said before the sound in the video isn't right. The main reason I posted it was my girlfriends brother dancing. Lol. It sounded like a magnaflow catback which I have heard before. And it only cost $25 for the muffler and $15 for the tip. I sold the car anyways in February.

  • sounds like shit lol, what is it a 2.2? wow how many hp u got ? 100?

  • @maans88 The sound isn't right on the video. That's not how it sounded. Even if it sounded like that it wasn't about the hp the car was making. I just wanted more sound out of the car, and if I was worried about hp I wouldn't have bought a Sunfire, that's what my Supra is for. It was my DD for 3 years, and I didn't have 1 complaint about the car.

  • @CorKey723 best comment ever dude

  • Interesting.

  • Now combine both. On a 2003 with a manual trans, elivation 3,800 ft, baro 14.6, ambient temp 100 degrees, intake air temp 105 degrees, ect at 187 degrees, synthetic oil, tirepressure at 32psi, 3rd gear, base run (no mods) is 120 hp and 143 lb-ft torque. Add the mods, we get 136 hp and 157lb-ft to the wheels. Get 16 hp and 14 lb-ft, stay emissions/noise compliant and have a tuned exhuast and intake system engineered better than you can buy anywhere else? The point is math pays off.

  • I'm not a fan. Have you heard these cars with a 2.5" diameter caback pipe to a 2.5" Magnaflow single inlet with 2-2" outlets, both running to 2 Magnaflow 1.75" inlet and outlet mufflers in he stock locations? If you can fabricate it yourself, you'll spend about $250 on materials, end up with approximately 6 extra hosepower and 4 lb-ft of torque without other upgrades, be noise compliant and emissions legal as long as you leave the catalytic convertor alone, but still have a nice sporty sound.
