is the movie like the book?

It's not about jewish persecution, that interpretation debases the whole novel.

This whole first trial scene is one of the most effectively jarring and disorienting sequences in cinema history. The editing and the use of sound, to say nothing of the camera angles, is nothing short of brilliant. The abrupt shots to overreactions from the crowd, the way K is perched precariously on the stage, almost in danger of falling off, the incredible shot of the closed door - it's all genius.

@badsign1980 In what way did you take the novel to be about the Jews?

One of my favorite movie scenes of all time!
This whole movie blew my mind!

I adore Tim Roth! And later I became fan of Anthony Perkins. So I was looking for Anthony Perkins in THIS movie. I typed in "The Trial" and got Tim Roth WITHOUT knowing that he played in it too. What an accident LOL. Of course I love Tony more in it but it's too hard for me to decide, now, after that happened.

HA! Story of my life. These days they don't steal your stuff. They utilize the Microwave Auditory Effect(Wiki) to sleep deprive you until you throw away your own clothes. If u tell anyone u are guaranteed to sound psychotic b/c "how are they telling you these things" "who would do such a thing" A P-doc would think he's hearing typical psychotic exceptionalism..."why do you think the Govn't is picking on you in particular?" Answer: I don't know doc, I'm not even Tea Party Bircher republican.-)
