The fountain at the new City Creek Center in Salt Lake City, Utah combines fire, water and music to create a spectacular visual display. http://www.shopcitycreekcenter.com. It was designed by the same company that built the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Yes, indeed. And so is the reason for this ballyhoo: To celebrate the opening of another shopping center. Go, Rummy, go. To hell!

Also: there are very few WET fountains using fire. Those I can remember offhand being Rose Quarter, Portland; Viejas, San Diego; Mirage volcano, Vegas; Branson Landing, Branson, Missouri; Crown Casino, Melbourne; Mitsui Fire Fountain, LA; Dunai Fountain (temporary set-up only); and the only other WET show to use these water flowers, Aquanura at Die Efteling, The Netherlands, also one of the few WET shows to use a lot of color. (And no... World of Color at California Adventure wasn't by WET).

Regardless of the Mormon connection, or which stores are in the mall... this fountain is beautiful. WET Design has created another hit. The fountain at Gateway was another WET build, and was pretty spectacular when it opened. I still haven't located a song list for this show, though.

do they only do the fire in that fountain at night? I've been during the day and have not seen the fire... that's so sweet.

Take that Gateway! Much cooler fountains at City Creek Center! Yes the fountains are very nice the stores are nice, but they have cannibalized many of the corporate american shops that were at the Gateway. Wouldn't it be cooler if there were many more locally owned stores? If there was a real sense of local cultural heritage? It still feels like anymall USA
