There are two kinds of "dead". Clinical death is when we do CPR to try and bring them back. Biological death is irreversible death. So, yes.. we do CPR on dead people. Why would you DO CPR on someone who is alive?

Are you kidding me? Most guides and websites about manual resuscitation will tell you straight out that it almost never works.

This. It's a sad truth, but many people end up with broken ribs and sternums from having this done on them, and a staggering number of times, it doesn't even work. How/why this got so many thumbs down is beyond me.
