Whew! Bob, Ned, and Benny's excitement was always so infectious in these old ESPN broadcasts! You just don't get that quite as much these days. Thanks for posting, battalion!
Interesting to see those guys in the yellow jackets were from Chevrolet; I've always wondered who they were. I noticed a similar group of them sitting togethr in turn two during the 1994 Brickyard 400 telecast.

lol, if they were sent in to the future to now and saw the constant 3-4 wide racing we saw last October, they would freak out haha

To gadgefan48 and BIGJRFAN, ya gotta excite the fans! Grab their attention!
Also the bumper cam was a really new invention, and constant 2 and 3 wide racing was not commonplace as it is now.

its true, for 1989 racing like this was pretty amazing. But just because we see constant 3 and 4 wide racing now doesnt mean this sucks, when i first saw this race i was amazed at the opening laps and couldnt turn away, really grabbed my attention you know
