Astrotrain is one of the 3 Decepticon Triple Changers:

- Astrotrain
- Blitzwing
- Octane

Astrotrain had prominent roles in the Transformers TV-show. His three modes are: robot, locomotive and space shuttle. There are variations of this figure which differ in color scheme. The Hasbro version has a white robot, black/purple train mode and a white/purple/black space shuttle mode. In the cartoo he was mainly gray. The Japanese Takara Collection reissue made him even more black and white. There's an E-Hobby reissue which has a cartoon-accurate color scheme.

Overall this figure is very nice. The only minor problems are his gun which is almost as tall as himself and more importantly, that his upper body collapses into his lower legs because the upper legs don't fit in tightly.

His transformation is simple, but effective. His space shuttle mode has a different color scheme than his locomotive mode which is great.

  • nice music its almost as epic as the vid nice review

  • @will77891 Thanks man

  • The G1 Astrotrain looks so much cooler than the new-age Classic Series Astrotrain. For one, G1 turns into a locomotive steam type while Classic turns into a bullet train. Also, G1's Shuttle Mode looks more articulated.

  • @SwerdThaViewer I agree. His locomotive mode is what makes him the typical Astrotrain.

  • I just got Astrotrain from eBay today.

  • Cool, he's a good addition.
