Another example of using cartoons to teach. This age-old Disney classic demonstrates forms of schizophrenia.

  • Ive been to wonderland a couple of times. :/

  • in the actual book. alice ate some mushrooms and thats why she saw all this. (haha. fun)

    AAAANNNNYYY WAYY!

not all schizophrenics are this bad.

ive been doing lots of reasearch on this, so trust me.

most of them can get along fine in society with medication, and or therapy.

my aunt for instance, has schizophrenia, and she has a job, and has a daughter (she is a single mother, and a wonderful one at that) and her own apartment, and a pet. and she gets along just fine.

  • wow i bet thats what its like

  • @emobeccaahha Some, but very very few, schizophrenic can even cope through therapy with little or no medication. There are cases where their prescription's side-effects are much worse than their disorder.

  • @emobeccaahha Thanks for sticking up for us! It just goes to show that not all of us Schizophrenics are people with lowly jobs and such! I'm a good example.. I go to college, I am studying to become a teacher... I have a great family... Everything seems really well right now!

  • This is fucking crap no one will believe this shit

  • @MonkWren you dont gotta be an a hole about it.

besides i posted this like, half a year ago, when i was under the impression i knew everything about schizophrenia. and in what i read, she ate mushrooms. i don't know which book you read, but it obviously wasn't the same one

  • @emobeccaahha

Depends on the type and severity of schizophrenia. i've been working in the field of mental health a couple years, and no two schizophrenics are alike.

also: Alice never eats mushrooms in the book. Read it.

Moral of the story: learn your shit.

  • This is non-education - promoting the fiction of this medically-invented disease.

  • some of these so-called symptoms of schizophrenia can easily be mixed up with psychic activity, hauntings, shamanism, spiritism, religious devotion etc. Heck even a good imagination is now considered psychotic anymore

  • yeah, i agree, as long as they take their meds, theyre ok (:

  • So have I, the game is better than the movie. ^_^
