is media portal faster than windows media center?  WMC always takes forever to respond and just sucks overall.

I think MediaPortal is better. I tried WMC and although its impressive looking, MediaPortal is more functional. My wife uses it all the time, to play vids for the kids, look at pictures, play games, its that easy (once you set it up).

@mnv36 media portal is not for xbox, XBMC is. you must install a tv tuner to watch tv.

How do you get the TV stream ?. were you creating your own tv streaming ?

do i awatch tv on computer

or can i watch computer stuff on tv

or both

I find it very iritating on my windows mce box that it does not properly display cover art for music which it created in the first place. simply amazing to me. however the my movies plug in for it is my focal point in the system. what does media portal have that mirrors that capability?
