I've been handpainting wine glasses lately just for something to do, and I actually really enjoy it! So if anyone is interested, this video talks a little about what I use, and shows some photo's of the one's I've completed so far! If you're into this kind of thing, watch for my "step-by-step video" coming soon!

  • I know it's been months since you did this tutorial, but I just contacted the company and this is their response regarding using the Clear Spray on wine glasses

Thank you for taking the time to contact Krylon. We appreciate your interest in our products.

Unfortunately we do not recommend our product on wine glasses. Our products are not dishwasher safe and FDA approved. FDA approval is important in terms of whether a product film is safe for incidental ingestion.

  • @comb0016 It's been over a year! haha That's good to know though, thank you! I don't really drink out of mine anyways because they are more for decoration than anything else but this makes me want to find something that IS FDA approved...hrmm if I find anything that is I will post! Thanks again:)

  • Cute glasses! I'm just curious, after using that Krylon spray, does that keep the sharpie oil based paint marker from coming off the glass when washing by hand?

  • @Missredhead89 Yes! I've washed mine by hand and it stayed on well! I even scrated at it a bit with my nail just to see if it would pick off and it didn't! :)

The baking method seems to be the safer choice. Even read that you could wash it on the top shelf of the dish washer, but I did mine, baked and then just hand washed it and it was fine. Good luck. I give kudos to those that make the videos. Keep the creativity going.

  • I have a question, how dow you paint the bottom of the wine glass, underneath, when using enamel paint? I "bake" mine and wasn't sure if the sharpie paint markers were basically the same? Suggestions?

  • @Aeris0Rocks they are sharpie PAINT PENS

  • Hi, the music is very distracting (love the track though!). Also you mentioned paints at the start but showed a picture of sharpie pens (no reference to what these are for).

The animal print wine glass looks great.

    :)
