The title of the song, "Endless Sleep," is a euphemism for death.

@sibjoan Yes. The song actually has a happy ending (in 1958, suicide was a taboo subject).
Guess you had to be young when it was on the charts. Haven't heard it in over 50 years.

This is a great Halloween song. Still remember Stephen King quoting it in
Salem's Lot...creepy ...It's right up there with Don't fear the Reaper.
