During January 2009, Dawson Geophysical from Midland, Texas used "thumper trucks" to conduct seismic testing to facilitate natural gas exploration in the Marcellus Shale play along the Upper Delaware River in Pike County, Pennsylvania.

  • These are not thumper trucks - they are vibrators - so-called because they VIBRATE the ground.

    Thumper trucks are old technology (1970s) , they dropped a large weight on the ground - usually in the desert where you can't do any damage.

  • Anybody know if they found anything? Or if they are planning to come to Pike County anytime soon?
