Andreas Heinecke is overcoming the barriers between "us" and "them" by creating exchange platforms that immerse people in worlds very different from their own in order to break down prejudices, to communicate and understand barriers that exist across different cultures, and to empower marginalized people. Andreas' first and most widespread platform is "Dialogue in the Dark" where participants experience darkness and blind people teach them how to see. The platform does not inspire pity but instead enables interaction and builds respect, understanding, and even wonder by redefining "disability" as "ability" and "otherness" as "likeness.Here you will see an exhibition to discover the unseen in a presentation from the TEDxESPM where the founder of Dialogue in the Dark Andreas Heinecke (Social Entrepreneur and CEO of Dialogue Social Enterprise) was invited to talk about his exhibition and overcoming cultural and communication barriers.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andreas Heinecke quebra as barreiras entre "nós" e "eles", por meio da criação de plataformas de troca que introduz pessoas em mundos muito diferentes dos seus, com o objetivo de quebrar os preconceitos para comunicar e entender as barreiras que existem em diversas culturas e para dar poder às pessoas marginalizadas. A primeira e mais ampla plataforma de Heinecke é a "Diálogo no escuro", em que os participantes experimentam a escuridão e pessoas cegas ensinam-os como "ver". Essa plataforma não inspira pena, ao contrário, habilita a interação e constrói um respeito, compreensão e reflexão, redefinindo "incapacidade" como "habilidade", "diferenças" como "igualdade".

Sobre o TEDx
No espírito de promover ideias que merecem ser espalhadas, o TED criou um programa chamado TEDx. O TEDx é um programa de eventos locais, onde o x= evento TED organizado de forma independente, que reúne pessoas para compartilharem uma experiência ao estilo TED. No TEDxESPM, vídeos chamados de TEDTalks e palestrantes ao vivo irão oferecer uma rápida mas profunda discussão e uma conexão com um grupo pequeno.
O TEDxESPM 2011 acontecerá dia 29 de setembro no auditório Philip Kotler na ESPM-SP.
